About Chrystia

Chrystia Chudczak is the founder & CEO of DECIDIUM, a global design studio based in Ottawa, Canada. Chrystia is inspired by the power of design to change the human experience for good. The former Chief Design Officer at the University of Ottawa, she pioneered this role at a Canadian university. Chrystia was the Executive Director of the Innovation Lab at Innovation, Science & Economic Development (ISED) bringing human-centered design to the Government of Canada. Working with over 100+ federal agencies, companies, non-profits, academia & organizations across Canada and globally, she activated design thinking and experimentation to reimagine how public policy and decision-making are done. Chrystia was instrumental in relocating the Innovation Lab into Bayview Yards in Ottawa, Canada, the first Government of Canada human-centered design lab embedded in a regional incubator and accelerator.

She holds an MBA, MA (Public Administration), BA (Soviet & East European Studies) & BA (Visual Arts), is a professional photographer, a Hockey Canada certified coach, a LEGO SERIOUS PLAY designer/facilitator & a proud second-generation Ukrainian Canadian.
