A Technologist’s View of Design Thinking in the Real World
As a Chief Technology Officer for Kyndryl (a spinoff from IBM and the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider), Gordon regularly collaborates on building and managing client technology systems that the world depends on every day. He is also an advocate for design thinking and leads Kyndryl Vital in Canada, a human-centered design co-creation experience to help address client business challenges.
In this session, Gordon will share his unique journey of adopting and embracing design thinking practices as part of his career. He will share insights on the intersection points between architecture and design disciplines, highlighting areas of synergy between the two. Gordon will also share stories and lessons from applying design thinking in the real world with clients and partners of a technology services provider.

Gordon Alexander is CTO for Kyndryl Vital (Co-Creation) at Kyndryl Canada. He has over 35 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in the design and deployment of mission-critical systems. He is a Certified IT Architect, Design Thinking Coach, and throughout his career has developed IT solutions for clients across multiple industries. Gordon’s combination of Architecture and Design is a unique asset that he applies in Kyndryl Vital co-creation experiences. Having been a client previously, he has a real empathy for his clients and is passionate about solving complex business problems with innovative IT solutions.
